Carat weight
Carat weight represents the weight of the diamond. Typically, heavier the diamond weight, the more expensive it is, but you must consider all the other factors as well (Cut/Color/Clarity) which significantly impacts its cost.
It’s always a good idea to stick to an equilibrium based on all four characteristics to make the correct chase. Without balance there is chaos, Bigger is not always better.
Same principle applies to mounted/finished jewelry. The more diamonds a piece has, the higher the total Carat weight will be. The Higher the Carat weight, the higher the price; unfortunately, carat weight is not always portrayed truthfully. Just because a piece of jewelry is tagged or represented as 1ct, does not necessarily mean its truthfully a 1 carat (unless graded un-mounted & from a reputable source like GIA). When diamonds are already mounted inside jewelry, it is extremly difficult to estimate the exact weight of that diamond, therefore most stores give you an estimated educated guess! An educated guess that will NOT typically hold up with a reputable certificate, because they are not the ones who set the diamonds, they are the ones who only sell it. At DHM we don’t believe in middlemen. We believe in direct Manufacturer to retail experience.
At DHM we operate and manage our own private Diamond & Precious color stone cutting factories worldwide. We literally own the diamond cutting plant factory/Gold factory/Setting house/Polishing house, and Distribution all underneath one roof! We know exactly the quality of diamonds used, number of stones, Caret weight and manufacturing process used on every single piece.
Trust, knowledge, integrity, that is the foundation of Diamond History Museum, making jewelry only fit for HISTORY.
